There’s nothing worse than seeing a stain on your newly acquired rug, especially if you have OCD, as we do. Fortunately, Ruggable rugs aren’t anything like your average carpet, as we discovered during our exhaustive Ruggable review.
Here, we’ll discuss everything you need to know about these neat rugs, including the price, size, texture, quality, design, maintenance, and more!
So, if you want to know what’s hiding under these carpets, we got you covered!
What Is Ruggable?
Ruggable is an LA-based online carpet maker with countless made-to-order rugs, runners, and doormats. Ruggable ratings are among the highest on the market, partly because of the abundance of sizes, textures, and designs.
The founder of Ruggable, Jeneva Bell, came up with the niche two-piece machine-washable design that makes Ruggable so unique. Fast forward twelve years, these rugs are all the rage, and you can even find them almost anywhere, including giant retailer chains like Walmart, Target, Lowe’s, Home Depot, etc.
What Is So Great About Ruggable?
As previously mentioned, Ruggable rugs consist of two parts — a beautifully designed cover (100% polyester) and a natural rubber pad that prevents the rug from skidding. Combined, these two make for a sturdy and immovable carpet.
Not only that, but the cover is also machine-washable, making it super easy to clean. Perfect for individuals with kids and pets or all those tired of hopelessly spot-cleaning stains off of their precious rugs.
Indoor Ruggable Rugs Review
In the following sections, we’ll delve deeper into the different designs and color schemes of these amazing rugs and see what exactly sets them apart from your run-of-the-mill carpet.
Shapes and Sizes
There are seven different sizes to choose from, ranging from doormat (2” x 3”) to majestic (9” x 12”). Likewise, round-shaped rugs are also available in 6” and 8” sizes.
Meanwhile, medium rugs include 5” x 7’’, 6” x 9”, and 8’’ x 10’’ sizes; a 3’’ x 5’’ option is also available. Moreover, the average thickness of a Ruggable rug is 0.3” with the classic rug pad. The cushioned rug doubles the thickness to 0.6”. Conversely, plush-textured rugs are 1.1” to 1.6” thick.
Not sure which size to choose? Then check out the Ruggable size-picking guide. It’s not only highly informative, but also extremely practical.
Design and Style Options
And as many a review of Ruggable rugs will attest, design options are not lacking in any category. For instance, there are as many as 86 kid’s rug options! Therefore, it’s safe to say that you’ll likely find what you’re looking for with Ruggable rugs.
From Bohemian and Moroccan to Persian and Coastal, Ruggable offers twelve distinct styles for their indoor carpets; impressive, to say the least. Though, we would have liked to see more Ruggable outdoor rug designs, as there are currently just four available.
Apart from the style, there are eleven categories of patterns that include floral, geometrical, abstract, and even folk heritage designs. There are even six seasonal rugs, including a Halloween and Christmas design. Pretty neat, huh?
But wait, there’s more!
For all those searching for a specific flavor, there are so-called Ruggable X collaborations. These include famous franchises such as Marvel, Star Wars, Toy Story, etc.
Color and Texture
There are 18 different color schemes across multiple designs. Hence, you’ll have no trouble finding the perfect fit for your interior design. From statement pieces to mellow designs, Rugged has got you covered!
We liked the natural-colored rugs, in particular, as they fit almost any interior design and really make the entire room stand out. Not to mention that they’re a timeless classic but to each their own!
There are also five distinct textures to choose from, besides the Ruggable outdoor rug, which comes with its own unique patterns. Moreover, you can choose rugs by style, including Moroccan, modern, Persian, traditional, etc.
As for the general feel of the rugs, they’re incredibly soft, fluffy, and highly durable. Hence, with each step, you’ll feel like you’re walking on a cloud.
Yet, what we liked the most is that you can sort through all the different categories like style, color schemes, and even seasons via the search bar on their website, making the entire browsing process incredibly user-friendly.
How to Set Up
As previously mentioned in our Ruggable rugs reviews, the brand uses a two-part system for their rugs. Hence, they require some extra work to set up. Yet, don’t let this intimidate you, as it all comes down to aligning and fitting the two different parts together.
The only thing that might cause you some difficulties is handling some of their larger rugs. Namely, their biggest model (9” x 12”) weighs an impressive 61lbs. Therefore, it might be a good idea to ask for a helping hand before the FedEx Ruggable package arrives.
As per our own review of Ruggable, it was quite difficult to carry. But once you get them inside, it’s a piece of cake!
Start by spreading the cover out on the floor, and rolling it to the opposite side with the design facing inward. After that, take the rug pad out and place it on top. Now, all you need to do is make sure you leave about 2–4 inches of overhang on each side of the rug. Press firmly across the body of the rug, and you’re done!
Maintenance and Care
If you ever had to clean a wool rug, you know just how expensive it can be. The same goes for a lot of materials out there, but not for Ruggable! Most Ruggable rug reviews boast about how low-maintenance these rugs can be, and we’re no exception.
Namely, all you have to do is separate the cover from the rubber pad and throw it face forward in the washer. The same rules apply as for any synthetic materials — use a delicate/cold wash cycle with mild detergent and vinegar instead of a softener/bleach. That’s all there is to it!
And for all those wondering: “will an 8×10 Ruggable fit in a washing machine?” The answer is a resounding “yes!”
In fact, we tried it out ourselves, and the rug cover is thin and elastic enough to fit in a normal-capacity washer and dryer. Still, as previously mentioned, the dryer should be put on a gentler cycle. You can also vacuum your rug in between washes.
Note that the rug pad, too, requires washing every now and then.
In the case of spills, use soap and water to clean and a washcloth to wipe them off. You can also occasionally brush the dirt off of your pad or vacuum it on low suction.
To ensure your rug stays firmly in place, use only hardwood floor cleaners of high quality. Also, make sure the hardwood floor dries out completely before putting it back down.
Ruggable Doormat Review
Ruggable’s two-part design works wonders for their doormats and sets them apart from any other design we’ve seen thus far.
Their washable bristle cover is attached to a rubber mat that serves as a tray for not only dirt but water, too, which helps keep the cover completely dry, as well as mold- and mildew-free! Nevertheless, the rug is not dirt-resistant and will require frequent washing.
Even so, the cleaning process is relatively straightforward, according to most Ruggable doormat reviews. Simply remove the cover, wash it on a low-heat cycle in the washer, and you’re all set.
Ruggable Outdoor Rugs Review
Made out of the same polyester fibers, an outdoor Ruggable is almost the same as its indoor counterpart but for the sturdier weave and its sun-fading resistance. Apart from that, it also uses a two-sided system that allows easier cleaning.
Who’d Love the Ruggable Washable Rugs?
Ruggable rugs are one-of-a-kind yet appeal to all kinds of people. Below, we’ve named but a few, including:
- People with kids, pets, and all those looking for easy-to-clean rugs.
- Anyone who wishes a rug and runner set combo.
- Those looking for unique, fun, and modern designs.
- Those searching for specifically-colored rugs.
- People that are in need of a rug for high-frequency areas.
Terms of Sale
Ruggable rugs are made-to-order. Hence they require a bit more time than usual.
The average Ruggable shipping time is one to two weeks if you live in the US. Canadians, on the other hand, might need to wait an extra week for their rug. Expedited shipping is also available for some Ruggable models, so it’s not all that bad.
Best of all, standard shipping is free in the continental US (48 states, including D.C.).
Ruggable also ships to Germany and the UK, but the shipping isn’t free, which is a real shame, according to most customer reviews of Ruggable.
Trial Period, Exchange, and Return Policy
You can return or exchange your Ruggable within 30 days of delivery. The brand will only accept products that are “spotlessly clean,” unwashed, and undamaged, preferably in their original packaging.
Note that if the return gets approved, you’ll receive a full refund minus a small processing fee of $25.
Not a whole lot of Ruggable reviews mention the generous one-year limited warranty offered by this brand. We were already impressed with the overall quality of these unique rugs, so this additional guarantee really helped put our minds to rest. After all, when a brand is so sure of its product, you know you’re in good hands.
Starting at $79.00 for the smallest 2” x 3” mat, Ruggable rugs certainly aren’t the most affordable option around. Still, most reviews of Ruggable rugs will wholeheartedly agree with us that they’re worth every penny due to their easy-to-clean properties.
In addition to that, fans of Marvel, Star Wars, and Keith Haring will be happy to see their favorite franchises come to life. Special collections aside, prices also depend on the overall size, shape, and texture of the rug.
For example, the price of a medium-sized rug (6” x 9”) costs $269.00 at the lowest end and increases to $379.00 for a designer collaboration design. That said, most indoor rugs of the same size cost exactly $319.00, whereas, for an outdoor rug, you’ll have to add another $10.

Ruggable Reviews and Ratings
Ruggable is one of the most popular online rug retailers, and their remarkably high Trustpilot score (4.2 out of 5 stars) proves just that. In fact, most customers highlight the wide variety of beautiful, high-quality rugs at affordable prices.
Yet, what really sets Ruggable apart is their highly customizable, washable rugs; you can choose your own design, size, shape, and color to fit your home decor.
The only Ruggable complaints we could find were from customers that had technical difficulties with FedEx billing, which has since been resolved. Other than that, it’s smooth sailing with Ruggable.
We were impressed by the wide variety of rugs the brand has to offer, not to mention their practicality. And although entirely synthetic, they proved quite stain-resistant and soft to the touch, making them ideal for individuals with kids and pets.
Is Ruggables a good company?
Yes, by far! Since its founding in 2010, Ruggable has pleased numerous customers around the globe. And although it’s not yet BBB accredited, the company is registered and legit by all means. Not only that, but the brand also offers something few other companies can — stylish, durable, and washable rugs.
Are Ruggables really washable?
Yes, these rugs were made to be washed continuously when needed. They’re specifically designed for high-traffic areas in your house and even the great outdoors. Moreover, they’re stain-resistant, so you don’t have to worry about kids or pets making a mess.
Can you vacuum a Ruggable?
Yes, you can vacuum a Ruggable without any problems. Do so with a vacuum attachment that is safe for use on rugs, and your Ruggable will be just fine.
Where to buy Ruggable rugs?
Fortunately, the brand has become such a huge sensation that you can find it in almost any big box retailer, including Target, Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Bed Bath & Beyond, Kohl’s, etc. You can even purchase one directly from the brand’s website at ruggable.com or ruggable.co.uk for UK customers.
How do I stop my Ruggable edges from curling?
There are a few things you can do to flatten curled edges on a Ruggable rug. Try to readjust the corners with your hand and press firmly to realign the rubber pad. You can even use weighted furniture to flatten them out.
Though, what we found during our own Ruggable review, is that some gentle ironing around the edges usually does the job.
