Safety has always been a concern for homeowners throughout the US and around the world. Security cameras, alarm systems, and ring bells are all effective ways of keeping your home safe from intruders.
In fact, security systems have always been popular, and for good reason too. Namely, they help prevent break-ins and can even assist police officers to find suspects when a theft does occur.
Hence, to no great surprise, a recent whitepaper by Parks Associates has shown that self-installation of security systems is on the rise in the US. Moreover, the paper shows that there has been a 44% increase in the number of people installing their own security systems since 2018.
The global pandemic could be partly to blame for this as people have been more skeptical lately about having strangers walking around their homes. It may very well be due to the high cost of professional help or simply the fact that people have just now realized that they can do it all by themselves.
With YouTube offering people tutorials on how to do just about anything these days, setting up a security system is just one more DIY project people are starting to take on rather than paying others to do it for them. At any rate, people will do anything to protect their valuables.
