Pantone, one of the leading color consultants and sellers nationwide, has just announced its pick for the Color of the Year 2022, and it’s probably not what you’ve expected!
Indeed, Very Peri or PANTONE 17-3938 is an optimistic periwinkle hue of blue—a color that is quite different from those chosen by other color brands for 2022.
For example, Benjamin Moore’s pick for 2022 is called October Mist and has a medium-light grayish-green tone. Another light, silvery-green shade called Breezeway was put forward as Behr Paint’s color of the year.
Olive-green and grayish Olive Sprig was the pick of PPG, and Evergreen Fog—an earthy tone of green-gray was chosen by Sherwin-Williams.
In comparison, Very Peri stands apart. It’s not reminiscent of the connection with nature and the great outdoors that we sought in the times of lockdowns. Instead, it has a different association—it inspires happiness and curiosity, all the while nurturing the creative spirit.
The company also states that Very Peri bears testament to the merging of the digital and the physical world and how colors manifest in both realities.
According to Pantone, this specific color symbolizes the transition we’re going through and the courage we need to make it to the other side of such turbulent times.
Undoubtedly, Veri Peri’s optimistic red-purple undertones make it a pretty colorful turn from Pantone’s 2021’s Illuminating and Ultimate Grey.
If you also like to trigger a new hope for modern times, choose this color to vivify your home interior or as a decorative self-adhesive film for your kitchen cupboards.
