Let’s face it: we could all use a break from this exhausting pandemic. And what better way to do just that than a spectacular vacation somewhere safe — like the great outdoors!
In fact, judging by the skyrocketing sales of RVs, it seems a lot of Americans will be spending this summer closer to home.
Yet, if you’re new to the whole RV thing, road maps, spare tires, and leveling bricks should be the least of your worries. Namely, leaving your pepped-up home should not mean less comfort; on the contrary!
Here’s a list of the five absolute must-haves to make your trip more enjoyable:
1. Take your mattress topper
Comfortable sleep can make all the difference between a memorable vacation and a lousy one. Hence, the only reason you should be losing sleep during your vacation is due to having too much fun, not discomfort!
2. Install a tankless water heater
If the notion of a hot shower doesn’t motivate you — especially after a day-long hiking trip — then just think about all the electricity and precious space you can save. Not to mention that you don’t have to wait until all the dishes are done before jumping into the shower.
3. Pack your best portable kitchen appliances
Your coffee machine, toaster, juicer, electric kettle, hand mixer, slow cooker, and other favorite cooking aids will save you the trip to a shared kitchen; especially when you’re hungry or you just need your morning fix (read: coffee).
4. Bring healthy snacks
Since you can’t rely on a snack subscription box while moving around the countryside, make sure to pack as many healthy snacks as possible. This way, you won’t crave your favorite snack and become agitated, thus spoiling all the fun and the spirit of your vacation.
5. Don’t leave your bike behind
Having your bicycle with you will give you the chance to explore the broader surroundings without having to pack up and drive. Plus, it’s an excellent way of working out and having some fun while you’re at it.
